In 2013, I covered an all-female shearing fundraiser in Victoria's west Wimmera region for Outback Magazine. 'Ducks on the Pond' attracted female shearers from around the world. They flew into Harrow, Victoria to compete as shearers, raise money for cancer research and support one of the industry's most awarded woolhandlers, Joanne Kumeroa. Jo competed in the event, despite having cancer and sadly passed away in 2015.
