Story coaching
As a story coach and content curator, I help conferences make the most of their line up.
When events are looming and sales slow, capturing the promise of a program becomes essential.
I work with programmers to ensure there's no overlap in content and that key messaging is clear.
Once presenters are on track, I then write copy that compels audiences to buy tickets. Win win.

The briefIn 2017, the Place Leaders Asia Pacific annual conference was invited to be part of VIVID Sydney, an annual event where art, technology and commerce intersects. As part of this jam-packed program, the Big Ideas on Place Conference had to draw its own audience and attract punters to its two-day event of industry leader presentations and workshops.
I worked with Place Leaders Asia Pacific as a story coach, helping a select number of presenters to refine and focus their presentations. Through interviews with close to 30 presenters, I was able to coach them into crystallising their content and unique perspectives, while crafting pithy descriptions for promoting the event. Having wrestled with the complexities of placemaking while producing The Place Economy, I was able to hone in on the value each expert would bring to the conference, drawing out aspects of their presentations they might otherwise have overlooked and assuring them of their role in a broader conversation. "Emily had a fabulous energy when it came to engaging our presenters, guiding them in how to share their expertise effectively in a short time frame, whilst maintaining an awareness of the broader programme. She brought a richer level of clarity to our event, and helped to promote the conference to audience goers, while boosting the confidence of our presenters through her strategic and subtle approach to bringing out their best."
