Churchill, Manitoba CA

In 2005, I volunteered at the Churchill Northern Studies Centre in Canada's sub-arctic to experience 'bear season'. Climate change was evident even then and spoken about by all of the resident scientists. Each year 800 or so bears (more than the town's population at the time) are forced to remain on land for longer, waiting for Hudson Bay to freeze over before the bears can reconnect with their natural food supply out at sea. While these photos were taken on an SLR, the files are small by today's digital standards. Still, polar bears! Magical.
